My Experience as Event Orginizer

Hi, my name is Markus Parlindungan, I am a student majoring in information systems at Gunadarma University, Depok. Now, I’m going to share a little about my experience as an event organizer at a Christian youth event in my own church in the city of Bogor.

The church is GSJA Betlehem Bogor, a local church that has become my second home, a church where I grew and developed from my childhood until now. "In the Light" is the name of the event that I participated in as a committee. At that time I served as the event team and also as a Stage Manager during the event.

As an event team, I worked as a person who makes how the lanes and set-up of events will be carried out. At that time the concept of the program that I and the team took was "In the Light", a theme teaches how young people must be bright in their environment, not to be like the world, but life to be a blessing according to the Word of Jesus Himself. Then we made the program flow with the KKR service system with some guest stars, Ps. Kenny Goh (Youth Pastor, JPCC Church) as a speaker & Franky Kuncoro (Unlimited Worship) as a Praise & Worship Team. 

Secondly, during the event, I served as a Stage Manager team, that is, people who worked to make sure the program went smoothly, more specifically, I served as an event reminder when I had to go on stage.

For me this is an amazing experience, because it could serve God and also others, as well as an interesting experience for me. I learned how to work together in small teams and large teams, how to respect each opinion and the importance of communication between teams, while It’s honing my personal creativity.

So from the story of my experience being a committee at an event at the church. I hope my story can be a blessing. Sorry if there is a mistake and inappropriate word, Thank you.
